It’s amazing how a little round plastic loom and a hook changed my life.

I went with friend to a Senior Center to learn how to crochet. I knew a little bit about that craft, I could do a single crochet chain, but I did not know much more than that. I ended up learning how to Loom Knit instead. This is a tale of how a round plastic knitting loom changed a hobby into a lifestyle for me.

After Loom Knitting so many beanies, I started teaching others how to loom knit. Some of them have difficulty using their hands but found they could work with a loom just fine.

There are many benefits to Loom Knitting. Loom Knitting has turned out to be a life saver for me. When I am bored, I can grab my loom, a hook and some yarn and make something. I can do it by myself or with others. I can make something for myself or others. I’m so glad, I met an elderly man at a Senior Center years ago who taught me a few stitches on his loom. Now, I’m teaching others those same stitches.

I’m currently Semi Retired.

I make Beanies, Scarves and other loom knit items.

I enjoy teaching others how to loom knit, hoping they will enjoy it as much as I do.

In 2023, I started teaching free basic beginner Loom Knitting classes to Seniors Citizens in their apartment Recreation Centers. Most of them had never loom knitted before but caught on quickly. I provide each person with looms, hooks and yarn.

There are many benefits to Loom knitting. Here are pictures of some completed projects students made after a few months of classes.
