It’s amazing how a little round plastic loom and a hook changed my life.
I went with friend to a Senior Center to learn how to crochet. I knew a little bit about that craft, I could do a single crochet chain, but I did not know much more than that. I ended up learning how to Loom Knit instead. This is a tale of how a round plastic knitting loom changed a hobby into a lifestyle for me.
After Loom Knitting many Beanies, I have started teaching small groups of Senior how to do the same thing. Some of them have problems with their hands but find they can work with a loom just fine.
There are many benefits to Loom Knitting. Loom Knitting has been a life saver, when I am bored, I can grab my loom, a hook and some yarn and create something. I can do it by myself or with others. I can make things for myself or make things to give to others. I’m so glad I met an elderly man at a Senior Center who showed me a few stitches on his loom. Now I’m showing others those same stitches. Loom Knitting has come full circle.
